Analyze a mock beyond the score

Turn a result into a small set of useful next actions.

Start with specific questions

Choose a few incorrect or skipped questions. Try to explain where your approach stopped before reading the full explanation. Reading a solution is not the same as being able to reproduce the method.

Separate the causes

A missing concept, an algebra error, an overlooked condition, and a poor time-allocation decision need different responses. Keep categories useful rather than spending the whole review labeling everything.

Example

For a sign error in a familiar method, redo the calculation and note a checking step. For an unfamiliar concept, study it and try a related question. Do not assign both mistakes the same revision task.

Finish with an action

Choose a manageable next step: redo selected questions, revise one concept, or practise a related topic. Revisit the result after that action to see whether you can now explain your approach.

  • Inspect your original approach.
  • Read the explanation deliberately.
  • Choose a follow-up action.
