PYQs or mocks: choose by your next objective
The format should serve the preparation task.
Separate questions from papers
Individual previous-year questions can support topic practice. A timed PYQ paper also gives an opportunity to practise a complete attempt. Record these as different activities.
Choose by the gap
A focused topic gap may call for related questions; pacing or selection may call for a timed paper. Select the relevant exam and syllabus scope.
Example
If the last review identified a missing concept, work on it before another broad simulation. If familiar material is accurate but timing remains difficult, an appropriate timed attempt may be useful.
Use the result
Whichever format you choose, review the work and define the next action. The label PYQ or mock does not by itself determine the value of the session.
